Bit-tech Mod of the Year 2014 In Association With Corsair

What a year it's been for PC modding. We've lost count of the number of fantastic projects to come out of our modding forums - both case mods and scratch builds. In fact, we'd go as far as saying 2014 has been one of the best-ever years for PC modding too.

We've seen a number of new cases become popular with modders such as those from Parvum Systems and Case Labs as well as new gear such as hardline acrylic tubing, while water-cooling itself is more popular than ever. It's now time to recap on some of the best projects of 2014 as we showcase the best you've nominated to take part in Mod of the Year.


To start with we need to say a huge thanks. Firstly to to the scores of people that took the time to nominate their favourite projects this year. This has ensured that all the projects taking part this year do so in as fair a way as possible. The list of nominees won't please everyone but our community has spoken.

Secondly, Corsair has come up trumps once again and is offering an awesome £1,000 ($1,500) prize, across our three categories this year, as well as offering generous prizes for our monthly modding articles Mod of the Month, where we showcase some of the best in-progress projects and our rigs of the month modding update, where we look great recently-completed ones.

Finally, we'd like to thank our immensely-talented modding community. Whether they're 3D rendering or electronics experts or hands-on PC modders, bit-tech's modding community is one of the best and most popular in the world.



This year, we have one catagory for case mods and one catagory for scratchbuilds with 12 projects in each. Both case mods and scratchbuilds have won Mod of the Year in the past but we recognise that they're difficult to compare. You can vote for three or more projects in each category where the best case mod and best scratchbuild will be decided.

As usual, once the public voting finishes, the top five projects from each category will go before our judges to pick the two winners. However, we also have a 'Best Project of 2014' prize slot, which will be based on sheer number of votes (again being picked from the top five most-voted for projects overall) plus input from our judges to crown the ultimate project of 2014.

This project can't also win one of the category prizes, so we'll pick the next best project as a runner-up, whether it be a case mod or scratchbuild. This way, three projects still stand to win prizes - one case mod, one scratchbuild each winning their pick of £250-worth of Corsair gear plus what you and our judges deem to be the best project of 2014, with its creator netting £500 of hardware of their choosing.
